Prajwal School Students Visit Local Authorities
As part of Social Studies curriculum, Grade Six and Seven students visited Hetauda Municipality Office and District Development Committee office on 2nd June, 2011 to gain the first hand experience on how these offices were formed; their roles and responsibilities; their future development plans; facilities provided to the citizens and challenges faced by those offices. We are pleased to see our students’ involvement in asking questions, observing, collecting information and taking notes!
Ajaya Bartaula, information in-charge of the District Development Committee (DDC), Makawanpur said, “It is so encouraging to see young students visiting the DDC to learn about the functions of local public authorities. When they are matured, they will have learnt a lot about the functions and roles of the public institutions. I see a bright future for the students of Prajwal Shiksha Sadan, who are learning practical life skills.
He congratulated the school for its initiative to promote active citizenship and wishes best of luck for the school in achieving its mission to offer transformative education. “I would like to wish all students all the best for their bright future”, said Mr. Bartaula.
According to Mr. Bartaula, it was the first time that students of a lower secondary school had ever visited the District Development Committee to learn about its functions.
At the end of the meeting, the District Development Committee gave a photo of Makawanpur district highlighting 12 important places to visit as a token of love.
Sharing her experience of the field trip, Suraksha Neupane, a student of Grade 7 said,” I feel happy today because I went to two important offices of our district. They are Hetauda Municipality and the District Development Committee office”.
” First, we went to the office of Hetauda Municipality and we asked a lot of questions”. Now I know the process of making citizenship certificate”.
